After the Magna show last weekend, our pal, Miles, gave me his new band’s CD. Mein Gott! Wow! It’s pretty darn good. If the guys in Calexico were turned into super cool vampires, this is the music they would make. It’s sparse and mellow but epic with just enough unconventional rhythmic ideas to keep you engaged.
