ComeOnInMyKitchen.com is simply a world showcase in an intimate setting for talented and original songwriters who tend to swim outside the mainstream. Artists perform songs in a kitchen (the dining nook portion of a kitchen technically) with a few microphones and camcorders present to bear witness to the magic.
The ingredients for making COIMK.com: three guys with a shared love of music and technology who all own digital camcorders that, until COIMK.com’s inception, had seen little or no action. With all the DIY technology available today, COIMK.com’s founders, Daniel Dykes, Ryan Knouf, and Dan Lin, found it impossible to just sit back and not create something like COIMK.com. It had to happen. Heck, hard-earned money was spent on those camcorders destined to only record cousins’ weddings and the like. Now those camcorders have a greater purpose in life.
RSS is the technology that makes content from COIMK.com free and easy to get. It’s like setting your DVR to record your favorite show. But instead of automatically recording a broadcast, your computer automatically downloads the latest show as it becomes available.
UPDATE: With the hectic lives we lead, rolling out new episodes on a regular basis has become an almost insurmountable challenge. So I’ve turned COIMK into a blog about the music news I care about. That doesn’t mean there won’t be any true episodes in the future. It’s just a way to keep this little piece of virtual estate from getting too stale. — Dan D
